Interested in leading and expedition? Qualified CMC leaders are encouraged to lead trips to destinations of their choice. The CMC and HAMS recognize the hard work and time required to lead a major trip. As an incentive for leaders to take responsibility for a trip, most leaders qualify for a completely or partly free trip, depending on the circumstances and number of participants. In general, HAMS reimburses the leader at a rate of 10% of the cost of their trip per participant. Exceptions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis. The Club also provides advertising, and can provide assistance with bookkeeping, mailings, and other clerical work. In addition, leaders are protected by the Club’s liability insurance (details are available upon request from the Risk Management Committee).
